Environmental Action Committee
The EAC is a student-run organization devoted to protecting the environment. We attempt to effect change by spreading awareness, holding educational events, and celebrating the environment through outdoor activities. We educate the campus community through public demonstrations, speakers, movies, and the yearly Earth Festival, held in the fall. Each month, we select a specific environmental theme, such as alternative energy or environmental racism, to champion. The EAC's goals are publicized through the Pinchot Review which comes out 1-2 times per term. We also go on several outdoor appreciation trips throughout the year. It is our goal to implement environmental awareness into the every day decision making of Exeter students. We meet weekly to pursue these goals. Adviser: Ms. Wilhelm
E-Proctors
Environmental Proctors, commonly called E-Proctors, play an important role in executing Exeter's campus sustainability efforts. The E-Proctor program began several years ago as a recycling task force, meeting monthly. The program has since evolved into a group of 60+ boarding and day students committed to educating the Exeter community about environmental issues. While recycling, and now composting, are still an important part of the E-Proctors job, the expectations and responsibilities of an E-Proctor have expanded to incorporate many other programs. A student board was created in 2006 to help facilitate new projects and run weekly meetings. Projects include the Green Cup Challenge, The Green Flag Program, and composting. Adviser: Ms. Wilhelm
