Dining Services hosts many special events throughout the year, from individual dorm cookouts to monthly birthday parties and internationally-themed events.
Students carve pumpkins, vote for their favorite cereal on Election Day, decorate gingerbread houses, make valentines and decorate valentine cookies, celebrate opening day of the baseball season, and eat buffalo burgers on Earth Day.
They enjoy a variety of apples during the fall’s Apple Fest, celebrate all holidays at December’s all-school Holiday Feast and eat crème brulee French toast or decadent desserts during February’s jazz brunch.
Students also have an opportunity to cook as they work with Executive Chef Patrick Brideau, helping plan and prepare events such as the Caribbean Smoothie night, the Asian Festival, or La Alianza’s dinner. Want some green tea ice cream? Come to the International Festival…
The dining halls observe religious traditions. Halaal meats are available every Friday. During Ramadan fasting students have access to food after hours. Fish is served every Friday during Lent. Matzo and unleavened foods are available during Passover and at the Seder dinner.
“Mix It Up Dinners” give students a chance to sit with others who share their birthday month.
